The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us: your contact form details, or your email when you download a file from our free tools.
- We use it to reply to you, deliver what you asked for and, only if you opt in, send occasional tips.
- We never sell your personal information.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email, website, the service you are interested in and your message. We also record the date and time and your IP address, which helps us filter spam.
When you download from our free tools
Our free tools ask for your email before a file downloads. We store your email, which tool you used, the website or page you entered, whether you opted in to tips, the date and time, and your IP address.
To remember that you have already unlocked downloads, we save your email in your own browser's local storage. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
When you use the tools without downloading
When you enter a URL, our server fetches that public page so the tool can read it. We do not save the URLs you enter or the pages we fetch unless you download a file, as described above. To prevent abuse, we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and the time of each request, for up to one hour.
Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. Google Analytics also collects usage data, covered under Cookies and analytics.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and schedule a consultation.
- To deliver the files and audits you request.
- To send occasional AI search and SEO tips, only if you checked the opt-in box. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To understand which pages and tools are useful so we can improve them.
- To prevent spam, abuse and misuse of our tools.
- To meet legal obligations.
How long we keep it
- Contact form and tool download details: for as long as needed to respond and work with you, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Abuse-prevention records: up to one hour.
- Google Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
- Unlock flag in your browser: until you clear your browser data.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct it or delete it.
- Stop sending you tips. You can also use the unsubscribe link in any message.
Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under laws like the CCPA and GDPR, such as the right to data portability or to object to certain processing. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights. To make a request, see Contact below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. Form submissions are stored outside the public part of our server, and access is limited to us. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
